A bucket-list morning that comes to your campus — gentle anchored rides for residents who can board, and a sky-filling spectacle for everyone else.
Rohr Balloons is a hot air balloon ride company based in McKinney/Allen, TX. We bring tethered hot air balloon rides and balloon glows to senior and assisted living communities across Texas and the Central U.S. — anchored, gentle, and planned around your residents.
Rohr Balloons brings the hot air balloon to your community in Texas or the Central U.S. — residents don't travel, wait in lines, or leave their families behind. The balloon stays tethered to the ground the entire time, rises gently to approximately 50 feet, and settles back down in about five minutes: long enough for the view of a lifetime, short enough for everyone who wants a turn.
It's a natural centerpiece for family days, community anniversaries, resident bucket-list programs, and marketing open houses — the kind of morning that fills a photo wall and a newsletter.
Plan a community event
Rohr Balloons runs senior-community tethered balloon events across Texas and the Central U.S. with the same crew and checklist we bring to festivals and universities.
Crew arrives 1-2 hours early; the balloon stands up in 30-45 minutes on a level lawn or lot with a 150-foot clear radius.
Four tie-down anchors hold the balloon while it rises approximately 50 feet for rides of up to five minutes.
50-120 riders per hour means residents, families, and staff all get a turn — and everyone else enjoys the show.
A 75-85-foot balloon on your campus is the newsletter cover, the photo wall, and the social post of the season.
Mornings and evenings in calm wind; the pilot makes the on-site call and consults with you before the crew ever travels.
FAA-certified pilots flying since 1972 — the same team behind 428 riders in one evening at Truman University.

Rohr Balloons balloon glows light up a Texas evening from lawn-chair distance — the inflated balloon pulses like a 7-story lantern after sunset while residents watch from exactly where they're comfortable. For communities where few residents can board a basket, a glow or static inflation delivers the full spectacle with zero accessibility barriers.
Many communities pair the two: rides in the golden hour for residents and families who can board, then a glow as the evening finale.
Rohr Balloons plans every senior-community balloon event in Texas and the Central U.S. around one rule: no surprises on event day.
Riders step into a slot in the basket side and climb over — our pilot and crew help every rider, and we routinely accommodate the elderly.
There's no seat in the basket; riders stand and may lean on the basket wall for the few minutes aloft.
Wheelchairs and walkers can't go up in the basket — residents using them enjoy the glow, the inflation, and the front-row view instead.
A phone consult prior to the event is recommended. Call 214-733-9915 and we'll talk through your residents' mobility, your site, and the right mix of rides and glow — the same pre-flight consult we recommend for any passenger with special needs.
Rohr Balloons prices senior-community tethered balloon events in Texas and the Central U.S. exactly like our festival and corporate tethers — no special-audience markup.
Tethered prices do not include travel — travel is additional and depends on location. Major holidays (like the 4th of July) have a 50% premium. A 10% non-refundable administrative fee schedules your event and applies to rescheduling due to weather conditions. Weekday discount options are available on 2-3 hour blocks — ideal for weekday resident programming. Full tether pricing & site requirements
