Hungry for more? Here’s how we recommend experiencing the best of Dallas (and surrounding areas) in a day:

In the Morning:

(Hot air balloon ride meeting times are dependent on the time of year)

Meet in McKinney, TX (at the Market Street on Eldorado) to begin your hot air balloon experience of a lifetime! You’ll meet the balloon team in the parking lot and ride with them to a launch destination. After launch, you’ll float peacefully over the beautiful city and countryside for about an hour. Once you land, there will be a champagne or mimosa ceremony with snacks and the famous balloonist’s prayer. The balloon team will take you back to the meeting spot to get your car. Head into Market Street for a cup of coffee or an amazing breakfast burrito!

WMcKinney totes a beautiful historic downtown square you can explore after your flight. If you need a break from the outdoors, swing through the Allen Outlet Mall or hit Watters Creek for great shopping, restaurants and more!

In the Afternoon:

Head south on 75 toward downtown Dallas and spend the afternoon exploring the amazing food trucks, activities, and people watching at Klyde Warren Park – it’s FREE! There are plenty of things to do at the park to entertain you for most of the afternoon. If you’re bringing the kids, check out the butterfly garden and the children’s park. Still feeling adventurous? Challenge a stranger to a game of chess! Be sure to check out Savor and Relish, grab some snacks! By now you may be getting pretty tired, so find a shady spot and relax…the day’s not over yet! If you tire of Klyde Warren Park but are not ready to hit the road yet, try exploring things to do near the park! Visit the Nasher Sculpture Center, wander around the Dallas Arts District, or visit the Perot Museum of Nature and Science (a MUST if you haven’t been).

After Dark:

When you’ve had enough of the park, try out Top Golf! Hit golf balls and have a cocktail, or relax on the patio and watch others attempt the sport of golf. There is also food available and live music on some nights.

Not a golfer? For the true Dallas nightlife experience, check out D Magazine’s updated nightlife section to find a live band, bar, or other events going on in Dallas, or head over to Deep Ellum and journey through the eclectic mix of bars and stores. Maybe even signup for a burlesque class at the Dallas School of Burlesque!
